Pet Friendly B&B, Sussex
The Silverdale is renowned as one of the most dog friendly and pet friendly Bed & Breakfasts in Sussex. Comments from one of our visitors staying with their dog: "We had a lovely time at The Silverdale in Seaford. Anybody travelling with a dog in the area should stay there. All the awards and praises are well deserved. Loved the breakfast, too!"
We would love to have you bring your dog when you come to stay with us. We have had all shapes and sizes of dogs stay with us and we enjoy meeting them.
We have a lovely dog ourselves – Bill a beautiful friendly brindle Staffie. Bill loves to meet new friends and is extremely happy around young children. All we ask is that you don’t feed Bill at breakfast as he doesn’t need much encouragement to beg!
The Silverdale has won several awards during the last few years connected with being a dog-friendly establishment. We are so proud of all these as welcoming dogs and treating them well comes naturally to all of us at The Silverdale.
When you arrive, you will be presented with a "dog friendly" information pack; containing a welcome information letter, dog friendly places to eat, dog friendly places to go, vets information and grooming parlours, local map and local dog walks. There will be a dog towel, blanket, food bowls, mat and pet food fork, pet wipes, poop scoop bags, complimentary dog treats and toy.
We are so pleased that you have decided to bring your ‘dog’ with you for your stay with us and we hope that you, and they, will have a memorable time with us.
We have a lovely Staffie called Bill who firmly believes that guests’ pets are visiting him, so he always likes to come out into reception to say hello the minute you arrive. If your pets are of a nervous disposition or are wary of other dogs they come across, just let us know and we shall do our best to keep Bill away from them.
We shall have for you, when you arrive, a map of Seaford showing the various parks and walks for your dogs, pet shops, vets, grooming parlours and other places that you might need to visit whilst you are here. There are clear signs along the beachfront showing the areas where dogs are, and are not, allowed at various times during the year. If you approach the beach via Dane Road you will see these signs almost immediately.
We also have a list of local pubs and restaurants where dogs are allowed with their owners.
Whilst we do not do evening meals ourselves, you are very welcome to get a take away and eat it in your room, we will be happy to provide you with crockery and cutlery. We offer a dog sitting service whereby one of us will sit in your room with your dog / dogs whilst you go out safe in the knowledge you pet will not be left alone in the evening. If you require dog sitting, please book prior to your arrival to avoid disappointment.
In your bedroom you will find a bowl for your dog’s water – the water in your bathroom is fresh and quite drinkable. You will also find a bowl for your dog’s food. We always ask our guests to respect the furnishings and, if you do let your dog sleep on the bed with you, please put the blanket we provide on the bed or seat where your dog sits/sleeps. We have also put an old towel in the room for them if they get wet or muddy or you can use the pet wipes we provide. Please don’t be tempted to use the bath and hand towels that we have supplied for your use.
If your pet does have an accident in the premises, please don’t be embarrassed, please ask us for spray and cloth in order to treat accident appropriately.
We would ask you not to leave your dog in your bedroom if you are leaving the premises as we have found in the past that most dogs are not confident by themselves in a strange environment.
Each bedroom is cleaned thoroughly after each guest. Be assured we do our utmost to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
